Sourced figures: rates in the table carry their source and check month. Most are published by a single seller for a single boat, so they are not a market price, and nothing here is legal advice.

A Komodo cabin charter has no single price. Sellers publish per-person rates that shift with the boat class, the cabin and the seller, and this page's price table lists them one seller at a time. Most shared rates leave out park entry, so the fare is rarely the whole amount you end up paying.

What do sellers publish for a shared cabin?

They publish different things under one word, "price". The price table gives each figure with its seller and the month it was checked. Read it with the key below, because a lowest rate on an agent's list and the top of a band on a named cruise are two separate measurements. We set them side by side and do not average them.

What do sellers publish for a shared cabin?
SellerWhat its figure measuresHow to read it
Salam Ransel (agent)Lowest per-person rate in each boat class: superior, deluxe, luxuryThe floor of a class across a long list, not the rate for a cabin you have chosen
Phinisi Trip (agent)Per-person bands it labels budget and mid-rangeThe agent's own labels; another seller may draw those lines elsewhere
Labuan Bajo Tourism (agent)Per-person band on two named shared cruises, set by cabinThe nearest thing here to a real fare, once you name the cabin
GetYourGuide (marketplace)From-price on one 3-day sailing tourA starting point; the listing itself says the final price may vary
TourRadar (marketplace)From-price on one 3-day phinisi group voyageThe lowest of several room bases on that listing
Komodo Touristic (agent)Estimate for a shared phinisi on 3D2NAn agent's estimate of the market, not a fare on a named boat

Labuan Bajo Tourism and Asik Travel are one seller, so their published figures count as one voice. Every shared rate in the table covers a three-day trip, which makes the rows comparable on length and on little else.

Why do figures for the same trip differ?

Four things move the figure, and two quotes can differ on all four at once.

Boat class. Salam Ransel groups its shared boats as superior, deluxe and luxury and gives the lowest rate in each, drawn from a comparison list whose size we cover in our piece on how many guests share a phinisi. The class label belongs to the seller, so ask what "deluxe" buys on the boat you are being quoted.

The seller. Komodo Resort, an operator, cautions that a single vessel often reaches the market through several agents, each with a price of its own. A gap between two quotes may therefore be margin and not a better boat, and you cannot tell until each seller names the boat. Treat an unnamed "phinisi" as a price for nothing in particular.

The basis of the price. Komodo Trips' terms separate packages, priced by the person, from charters, priced by the boat, so a whole-boat figure and a cabin fare only compare after you divide by your own group. Our guide to the Komodo cabin charter sets out the products behind those bases, and the cabin and private comparison takes them line by line. Currency differs too: Salam Ransel, Phinisi Trip and Labuan Bajo Tourism publish in rupiah, while GetYourGuide, TourRadar and Komodo Touristic publish in US dollars. We leave each figure in the seller's own currency and do not convert it.

What the fare leaves out. By Salam Ransel's account, park entrance fees, flights and travel insurance normally sit outside its shared price. A separate Komodo Trips listing also excludes park tickets. Hello Flores, a seller writing about one higher-grade shared cruise, says park entrance fees are included on that boat. A fare with park fees inside will look dearer beside one without them, even when the boat costs the same. Our page on what a cabin fare includes and excludes goes through the lines one at a time.

How much does the cabin change the fare?

Enough that the cabin should be the first word of any comparison. Labuan Bajo Tourism ties the fare to the cabin on both of its listed shared cruises and puts named suites at the highest rates. Each of those two rows in the table is one cruise from one seller, so the width of the band comes from the cabin.

TourRadar makes the same point in another way, on one three-day trip. It shows separate prices for four room bases, which gives one trip four fares. Our guide to reading a phinisi cabin list shows what such bases tend to mean, and how wide the shared-to-private step ran on four boats.

Look hard at what the low end buys. Komodo Touristic cautions that budget tours frequently mean bunks in a shared cabin and a bathroom you reach by leaving it, so it tells buyers to check the layout. A rate that looks like a bargain against a named suite may simply be a different kind of bed.

Cabin rules also shape what a small party pays. A lone traveller can take a berth in a shared cabin on Salam Ransel's terms, but a private cabin there needs two guests. Green Rinjani gives a lone traveller three choices: a bed shared with other passengers, double the fare for a bed of their own in a shared cabin, or the price of two for a private cabin. Those are two agents' policies. Two people weighing a cabin against a boat of their own should read what a charter costs for couples.

What should you add to the fare?

Use this as a worksheet. Fill in the first line from your written quote, then ask the seller which of the others are already inside it. Some reported figures, such as the diving surcharge, are on the park fees page.

The park ticket deserves the most care, because it multiplies. Neptune Liveaboards reports one rate a day for foreign visitors, set by Government Regulation 36 of 2024 and charged since 30 October 2024, weekdays and holidays alike. Samara Liveaboard adds that it falls due on every day you spend in the park, so length of trip feeds straight into the bill. Ask how many park days your itinerary counts, then multiply. Dive Komodo keeps ranger fees outside the ticket and outside its own standard package quote. Each charge, and how sellers collect it, is set out on the park fees page.

Can a listed rate be trusted as final?

No. Treat it as the seller's opening position. GetYourGuide says on its own listing that the final price may vary by date, number of participants and availability, and the same listing advertises free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, a term that belongs in your comparison alongside the price. Every figure in the table is also dated, and any of them can move after the month shown.

A rate becomes useful once it is tied to the boat's name, your cabin, your date and a figure in writing. Komodo Resort's charter guide makes a similar demand and adds photos of the actual cabins, a sound test for a seller of any size. Our booking guide lists what the written quote should hold, and how a cabin charter works explains who confirms what.

One interest to declare. We are no bystander here: people who write to this desk can end up signing with a company in our group, so give any figure from us the same test. The desk can talk through a request, and only a written offer states a price anyone is held to.

How do you compare two quotes fairly?

Line them up on the same terms before you look at the totals. A high quote and a low one may differ in cabin, in park days, or in both.

  1. Check the boat. If both quotes name one boat, any gap comes from the seller or the inclusions. If they name two boats, you are comparing boats, and the price is only part of that decision.
  2. Match the cabin. Bed layout and bathroom position first, then the label each seller gives them.
  3. Count the park days. Two itineraries of the same length can spend different days inside the park, and the ticket follows the days.
  4. Fill the worksheet above for each quote. Move every excluded line into a total of your own.
  5. Convert only at the end, at the rate your own bank or card would give you on the day.
  6. Price the terms. A larger first payment or an earlier balance date is a real cost if your plans may change, so read what sellers ask as a deposit beside the fare.

If your group is large, also test a whole boat. Asik Travel's reasoning is that the bill for crew, fuel and galley does not change with headcount, and by its sum ten people on one boat spend about what ten shared berths would cost. This is one agent's arithmetic for its own boat, and it comes from the seller already counted above, so test it against published whole-boat rates before you rely on it.

Does a Komodo cabin charter cost more on a longer yacht departure?

Yes, on the one broker's range we can cite, and it is a different purchase from the rows in our table. Navélia, a yacht-charter broker, uses the phrase for scheduled yacht departures and prints a separate per-person range, in US dollars, for Komodo trips it says usually run 3 to 5 nights. It states that its prices exclude Indonesia's 11 per cent tax, and that park and diving fees may apply depending on the departure. Moana Cruising, a liveaboard carrying at most 10 guests, sells six days and five nights, with a lower fare for guests who do not dive.

Every shared rate in our table covers three days, so a yacht figure cannot sit beside them as it stands. Divide each by its nights, ask whether tax is inside it, and add the park days. These two sellers' figures are not in our table, so open each source for the amount and the date it applies to.

What can we not confirm about cost?

Several questions readers ask have no answer we can stand behind today:

  • Peak-season surcharges across the market. Ask whether your date carries one.
  • Rates for 2027. We have not found third-party sellers publishing them.
  • Last-minute and group reductions. Any offer of one is that seller's own.
  • Fuel surcharges. No source we opened covers them.
  • Conservation and harbour lines per person. Sources conflict. Komodo Resort's fee guide lists both on top of the entry ticket, while Neptune Liveaboards treats a per-person harbour line as some sellers' way of recovering their own vessel costs, with no separate government ticket behind it. Ask a seller to explain any such line on your quote.
  • The official tariff wording. We report the park ticket through operators, and have not matched it against the park office's own published text.

Which published prices did we check?

Public rates and fees from third-party sellers and guides, each with its source and the month we checked it. Most of these are published rates for one seller or one boat, not a market average, and they can change without notice; check the source before you rely on a figure.

Which cost questions come up?

Does the cabin type change the price of a shared Komodo trip?

Yes. Labuan Bajo Tourism prices its two listed cruises by cabin, and a TourRadar listing shows four room bases for one trip. Compare the same cabin across sellers, or the comparison tells you little.

Is a cabin charter priced per person or per boat?

Per person on the shared trips listed here. Komodo Trips' terms keep packages and charters on separate bases, so check which one a quote means before you compare it with anything.

Are park fees included in a cabin fare?

Usually not, though it depends on the boat. Salam Ransel and a Komodo Trips listing leave them out, while Hello Flores counts them in on one shared cruise it describes. Get the answer for your boat in writing.

Why is one boat quoted at two different prices?

Usually because several agents hold it on their books, according to Komodo Resort's charter guide. Ask each seller for the boat name and a written price, then check that the cabin and the inclusions match before you judge the gap.

What does a 3D2N cabin charter cost per person?

It depends on class, cabin and seller, and the price table gives each seller's published figure for that length of trip. We do not average them, because the rows do not measure one product.

Can this desk give me a fixed fare from this page?

No. This page reports what third parties publish. The desk can answer questions about your request, and a binding price can only come from a written offer.

Which sources support this page?

Each figure and policy above belongs to the seller or operator named beside it, as published when we checked in November 2026.
